Existing Battery Owners
Your battery could be earning you money right now.
If you already have a home or business battery system, Sonoma Energy Alliance may be able to enroll it in a local Virtual Power Plant (VPP) — sharing revenue with you when your battery helps support the grid during peak demand, without changing how you use it day to day.
How it works
- Tell us about your system — brand, size, and install date.
- We check whether it qualifies for VPP participation and grid programs available in your area.
- If it qualifies, we handle enrollment and grid coordination — you keep control of your battery, and you get a share of what it earns.
What you keep
You keep ownership of your battery and priority use during outages. Sonoma Energy Alliance handles enrollment, grid coordination, and compliance, and shares the majority of the revenue your battery generates with you.
We work with most major battery brands, including Tesla, Enphase, Franklin, and others.
VPP participation depends on your battery's brand, capacity, and utility territory. Not every system qualifies yet — we'll confirm eligibility before any enrollment.
