Sonoma Energy Alliance exists to simplify complexity and accelerate the adoption of renewable and distributed energy resources — because they create real economic value, improve resilience, strengthen communities, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
What we do
We work where technology, financing, tax incentives, utility programs, and public policy intersect, and turn that intersection into a practical path that homeowners, businesses, schools, nonprofits, and communities can actually take — from a first energy review, to solar and battery installation, to longer-term programs like Virtual Power Plants.
Our vision
We're working toward a Sonoma County where solar, battery storage, electric vehicles, and smart controls work together — making local energy cleaner, more resilient, and more affordable for the people who live here.
Two organizations, one mission
Sonoma Energy Alliance, LLC develops and finances solar and battery projects for homeowners and businesses. The Sonoma Energy Alliance Foundation is a nonprofit affiliate focused on grid-support and community resilience projects — including grant-funded battery storage in historically underserved areas — using tools like federal Elective Pay to bring more of every energy dollar directly to local projects. What we've built so far
We've connected directly to PG&E's Share My Data program, so reports are built from real usage data rather than estimates. We've built our own feeder and grid-interconnection analysis tool to help identify where new solar and battery projects create the most value for the grid. And we've already begun securing federal tax-credit eligibility for local projects ahead of scheduled step-downs.
Current status
We're in early deployment — running our Energy Intelligence Report and PG&E data connection live today, working directly with a small number of installers and homeowners, and building out the Foundation's grant-funded programs.
